Thanks go to the many villagers who baked cakes and made puddings for the village hall tea which were very well received by those in the village.
The day was bright and warm and the lunch was very jolly with villagers scattered on tables and comfortable garden sofas and chairs. The Bunting was fluttering in the rising heat of a couple of BBQs with a wide array of scrumptious dishes brought along by, and sometimes cooked, by those from the village.
The Sun Inn was open with owners, Trish Crouch and Bernie Crouch accompanied by their cardboard cutout of the newly crowned King, on hand to dispense bonhomie, refreshments and on occasion assist with the opening of a reluctant bottle of fizz.
Thanks go from us all to the Coronation Committee and its organizer Mrs Linzy Wolloff for the thought, care, and many hours of work involved to ensure the day was a success for everyone.
Photographs of the day including the walk to the King’s Stone will be added to our gallery when available.
