A few weeks ago the street lamp on Back Lane by The Posts was not working and reported for repair. It transpired it had been shot out by an air pistol or rifle. Believing this to be nothing more than an accident the PC publicised details on the web site for the correct use of such fire arms, which should neither be used in a public place or by persons under the age of 18.
It is with considerable regret we have to report that it has, yet again, be shot out. The first repair was over £100 and the second, no doubt will be of a similar amount but could be as much as £350. This is accounted for by the Parish Council from the Precept which is paid by all villagers so it is a matter that affects everyone.
There is no suggestion that this is the work of anyone in the village but since we have to pay for it please be aware of anyone carrying such weapons anywhere in or around the village public places.
