It’s really is hard to believe we are nearing the end of June, so much has happened since lockdown in march. We have all had to get used to different ways of living, the pressure of making sure our kids are ok, not just from making sure they are still doing their school work but also looking out for their mental health. We also need to make sure we are looking out for ourselves too, its has been tough for everyone. Even though we have all been affected by this, we have all been affected in different ways, whether that’s been financial worry, health worry, caring for others or the many amazing key workers who have had to carry on working through it all. Going into the next few weeks/months of restrictions being relaxed, we all are looking forward to be able to do the things we used to, but it isn’t as simple as that for a lot of people. Many people are frightened of a second peak, or have health problems that make them extremely high risk, people are coping with the death of people they loved, jobs losses and the financial worry of paying the bills. This time is more important than ever that we listen and act on the words of Jesus to love our neighbour, whoever that may be. To show understanding, love and compassion, to be a light for Jesus in all we do, so when people think of the Church they think about the real Church, the people of God that worship there. What is God calling us to do and to be in this new world?
Here are this week’s links-
This one is a link for the grown-ups, I found a review about the author Adam Croft he has released a new book set in Rutland, it is available at walkers in Oakham or Stamford or downloaded as an eBook.
The first in a stunning new crime series from 2m+ international bestseller Adam Croft.
A peaceful Sunday morning in Rutland is shattered when a dead body is discovered on the rocks at Normanton Church.
The victim has been laid out in a crucifixion pose, facing the altar. DI Caroline Hills is certain there’s a religious connection — one which threatens the tranquillity of life in the area.
