The district councils in Leicestershire and Rutland are working together to find suitable homes for refugees who will arrive in the country as part of the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Relocation Scheme.
Some refugees will arrive in late summer, while the first intake to Rutland is expected in September. The intention is for Rutland to take in 12 individuals over the next four to five years. These refugees will arrive from designated camps close to the Syrian border or areas around those camps.
