Keep the 747 service between Leicester and Uppingham running (297 people have so far signed the petition)

This petition has been set up in order to draw your attention to the fact that from 8th January 2017 our 747 Centrebus service will be WITHDRAWN COMPLETELY between Leicester and Uppingham (IN BOTH DIRECTIONS) therefore not serving the villages in between.
This will not just have a detrimental effect on Houghton residents, but others who rely on this as well, including others from neighbouring villages plus students relying on this for school and college during the day.
If we don’t act now by signing this petition or Emailing Lee Quincy – [email protected] before 8th January, we will loose this vital service.

I used to live in East Norton and I would use this bus regularly to get to Leicester and go to Uppingham as I couldn’t always rely on my parents. By removing this bus you are going to isolate a lot of people both young and old!
I think it’s absolutely appalling – there are people of all ages who need this bus, not just the elderly who will now become house-bound as they have no other means of getting anywhere. This bus is a lifeline to all the villages along the A47 which is a main road between Leicester and Uppingham. If this bus goes, the villages will die.
These buses are a lifeline. I have a disabled daughter in a wheelchair. When I didn’t have a car, my local centre bus took us to hospital visits, days out and even to my parents house. They are great buses
