Since the last Neighbourhood watch brief we have had one report of burglary residential to a secured dwelling in Lyndon Rd, Manton. Unknown person(s) had gained entry by smashing the glass on a side door. A tidy search was carried out and no property was reported taken. This incident occurred at 15:05 on 03/05/2017.
One report of burglary residential to a secured dwelling in Main St, Lyddington. Unknown person(s) had gained entry to a shed by smashing the lock and a pedal cycle was taken.This incident occurred between 12/04/17 and 01/05/2017.
Beat Surgery at the Cafe Nero, Oakham on 12th May between 15:00 & 16:00.
Beat Surgery/Property Marking Event at the Normanton Giant store on 20th May between 15:00 & 16:00.
Beat Surgery at the Methodist Church, Uppingham on 26th May between 10:00 & 11:00.
Scams – Over the last few months, there have been an increasing number of reports of scams being received by Rutland residents.
Scams come in many different forms and can be letters, emails, phone calls or even door step traders, all with the sole intention of obtaining money through deception or fraud. There are many different types of scams, such as fake lotteries and prize draws, get-rich-quick schemes, bogus health cures, investment scams and pyramid selling.
If you can tick off one or more of the following, it’s probably a scam and you should be suspicious:
Do not be embarrassed to report a scam. Modern day scammers are cunning and clever and there is no shame in being deceived. By reporting you will make it more difficult for them to deceive others
