In just 2 years 109,000 cars drove out of petrol stations without paying for fuel costing £30 million. Number plates are stolen every 15 minutes yet if the DVLA introduced fixing security screws to number plates at each MOT or when a car is sold by a garage it would cost HM Government just 60p per car
Please support my petition to have registration plates on vehicles fitted securely to prevent their theft.
This request has been sent out across the nation asking NHW members to sign up
As you may know there are 173,000 Neighbourhood Watch groups in England and Wales
The Closing date is: 30/03/2015 23:59
100,000 signatures are required to achieve the target set by HM Government.
What puzzles me is that the meeting that I attended with Sunny Gill at the Home Office 20 August to discuss the problems of bilking was attended by 20 movers and shakers in the world of Transport but nothing moves!!
Simon Cole Chief Constable for Leicestershire if fully behind the drive to stop number plate thefts and has been contacting other Chief Constables and Members of Parliament amongst others but the apparently silent ranks of the NHW are yet to make their voice heard.
