Please engage your alarm, if you have one when leaving your property and ensure your SmartWater protection is in place. Locks any gates leading to the rear of your property. Make it as difficult as possible.   There have been five burglaries in Rutland – four of them on the west side – in the last few days.  All burglaries have been forcing or cutting a rear patio door or window to gain entry.

Please be alert to any unknown vehicles.  If you witness anything suspicious make a note of registration numbers and description of people if you can and call the police immediately.

All of these burglaries have been when the owners are away which would suggest they have been observed prior to breaking in.
