Brian Baker’s Easy Entertaining, ticket only event in the Village Hall supporting Celia Bloor’s London marathon on 24th for the Lord Tavener’s was simply brilliant.
The food was wonderful with a seared beef, seared as you have never seen before, and oriental salad. A carbonara pasta, again, made in a completely authentic, easy and mouthwatering way. The novelty of a sweet pizza of cream cheese and berries on filo pastry looked as if it had leapt straight from the pages of a very up-market magazine and a chocolate pudding that, in it’s prepared state, will keep uncooked in the refrigerator for up to a week and is completed whenever you feel the urge simply by putting it in a coffee cup and nuking in the microwave for 40 seconds before pouring a glistening high-quality chocolate sauce over it!
Well, I know what’s on the menu for my next dinner party.
There was plenty of grilling from the rear of the hall and volunteer choppers and graters with the most wonderful banter batting back and forth for the evening.
So all in all, a triumph and a great fundraiser for Celia who, if you are watching on Sunday 24th, will be running in a Leicester shirt. Thank you Brian and Go Celia!
