For those who are new to the village, you may be wondering ‘what is the Belton 100 club’?
It is a game which provides much need revenue for the Village Hall. The Village Hall is an asset belonging to the village and owned by the village. It has a committee managing its repair and maintenance who create entertaining ways of the providing the much-needed income.
One of the things at present on its agenda is to improve the ‘loo’ area at the entrance to offer at least one more facility for ladies in addition to the disabled loo. The reason for this, which anyone who has used the ‘loos’ previously available directly from the Hall will know, is that as a single skin addition with more than one window to the Village Hall it has sub-zero temperatures at all times irrespective of the amount of heating provided! It is hoped that the new location will provide a more comfortable facility.
The Belton 100 Club is supported by villagers who buy one or more numbers for the year. As you will notice from announcements each month three numbers are drawn and 50% of the income is divided each month into 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. In the event you would like to be in with a chance to win, the numbers will be available for purchase on renewal which is normal July/August of each year. In the event you would like to support the Village Hall and have your own number(s) please email Andrew Rigby at email@example.com who very kindly organises it for the village.
You may also be aware of the Village Hall social lunches which are now held on the last Monday of each month offering a delicious soup and pudding for just £5. Organised by one of the Village Hall committee Liz Neill, these lunches are proving very popular for a catch up with neighbours in the village. The next lunch will be Monday 27th March and everyone is warmly welcomed. Start 12 noon and finish at 2 pm
The Village Hall committee arranges one or more times a year for events in the Village Hall where the enthusiastic support from villagers provides vital help with the cost of maintenance. The next event is this Saturday and offers fun Bingo with Supper and raffle for a mere £6. What a bargain! There will be a bar where beverages of your choice will be available.
We look forward to welcoming those who are new to the village and those enthusiastic villagers we know so well.
