Please note Belton PC is checking the grit bins and will arrange any refills if necessary. It is thought this is probably unlikely because they were refilled just a few weeks ago.
RCC is preparing for the bout of cold weather that is expected to affect the UK in the coming weeks.
Forecasts predict that the weather will turn much colder from Monday 26 February with increased risk of ice, frost and snow showers across central and eastern parts of the country.
It is predicted that temperatures will remain low with a further risk of snow throughout the early part of March. You can view and monitor these long-term forecasts on the Met Office website: www.metoffice.gov.uk
We already have measures in place to monitor and respond to cold weather events as part of our annual winter maintenance programme and would encourage others to be prepared in light of the latest forecasts for our area.
If you’ve not done so already, please check the amount of salt currently available in your grit bins and contact: email@example.com if these need to be restocked.
