The first round of the Green King Cup saw the Belton Braces travel to the Boot & Shoe South Luffenham to see how the game of petanque should be payed. The Panters, who were runners up in the 2014 premiership. The game, which took place on a difficult piste saw the consumate skill of the home team over come some sprited play by the Braces, the first two games going the Panters way. The teams then broke into pairs for the final 3 matches, which should have all gone the panters way but two of the Bracers took their game to new hights, and won a tightly fought game to get the braces on a winning path, which will hopefully continue next week.
Team: Hugh, Guy, Phil, Matt, Albert, Dave. With Sheila as the support.
