HM The Queen’s 90th Belton Birthday Sunday 12th June
There will be a service at St Peters Church (times to follow) in the morning followed by teas and coffees, available until 12 noon. We hope villagers would like to submit flower arrangements, delivered the day before, which will be judged by Amanda Steele on 12th.
Apart from Games and Tea there will be competitions:
The ‘best’ birthday card – created by a child from the village.
A competition for an iced cake, which can, should you wish, be small in size, will also be taking place and Judy Maddaford has kindly offered to judge to the winner.
The village celebrations will begin at approximately 11.30 am in the Secret Garden organised by the Recreation Group.
Games from yesteryear, both wonderful and crazy, will be taking place and refreshments will be available from the beer tent. Hot dogs will be on the BBQ courtesy of a very generous villager. Let’s all pray for fine weather! If not, we may hold the ‘most colourful wellies’ competition!
From 3pm a traditionally excellent Belton tea will be served in the Village Hall, or, should we actually have fine weather and time permits, perhaps on Main Street.
If you would like to donate a cake which would be most gratefully accepted, or help with the making of sandwiches, many hands make light work, we shall be meeting 9 am in the Village Hall on the day, please contact Trish on 717227 or Jan on 717623.
If you would like to make any other donation for the tea, please contact Trish or Jan, or if you would like to help on the day or you have games tucked away in your attic or garage you could make available to the Secret Garden for the day, such as hook a duck or similar, please let one of the recreation group know:
